Ravlunda church was built around 1200. It is typical Scanian in its design with the east apse, cows, nave and tower.
During the 1400’s was low brick arches during träloftet and the vaults were filled with paintings. Of the residue that remains is believed that the artist wasknown as the Vittskövle Master.
Probably built in the church porch and also the tower during the 1400s. The expansion to the north is considered to come from the 1600s.
The altar was added in 1592, the pulpit 1609th
Church-ship was donated to the church in 1955 from Vitemölla fishing village. It hangs next to the image of seafarers patron, St. Christopher.
In the churchyard is the author Fritiof Nilsson Piraten buried with the originalinscription on his tombstone.
“Here in the ashes of a man who had the habit of shooting everything until tomorrow. But he improved on their best and really died January 31, 1972”.
